The Kaduna state government claimed on Saturday that Nigerian army troops and their Nigerian air force counterparts had killed dozens of bandits in Galbi, Chikun local government area of the ‘State.
State Commissioner for Homeland Security and Home Affairs Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed the development in a statement to Kaduna, said troops recovered several weapons, including two general-purpose machine guns, three AK47 rifles and seven motorcycles during the operation.
He added that the terrorists were killed in a duel with the troops.
He said: “The security forces have registered a major success in the ongoing operations against the terrorists, as dozens of bandits were neutralized by ground and air troops during an operation in Galbi, in the government area. Chikun local.
“This was passed on in an operational feedback to the Kaduna State Government by the security agencies.

“According to feedback, Operation Forest Sanity troops supported by Nigerian Air Force assets have carried out clearance operations on an identified terrorist enclave in the general area of Galbi.
“During their advance, the security forces crossed the Kaduna River and encountered stiff resistance from the insurgents.
“After a fierce firefight, dozens of terrorists were confirmed neutralized as military forces prevailed.
“Two general purpose machine guns (GPMG), three AK47 rifles and seven motorcycles were recovered from the neutralized bandit enclave.”
